American College of Veterinary Pathologists (ACVP) - About

This is only a convenience copy of the ACVP reading list to help find copies of reading materials in local libraries.  It does not replace the official ACVP reading list. Candidates are responsible for ensuring they use the latest ACVP reading list.

This guide contains the list of books and journals recommended as study materials for the American College of Veterinary Pathologists (ACVP) examination.

Residents are responsible for ensuring they are using the correct edition of a book for their exam.

Please ask your librarian, mentor, or specialty board examination committee if questions arise.

ACVP Certifying Exam Information

General note: 2016-2017 was a transition period in the exam structure. The traditional exam structure will be offered for the last time in September 2017 in Ames, IA. See  This guide is being restructured for clarity, to better align the template with the reading lists, and to ease the transition.
