Monopoly is a multi-player board game where the objective is to be the player with the most money at the end of the game. Each player rolls the die, which determines how many spaces they will move their game piece around the game board. The game board spaces represent properties that players can "buy," if not already owned by another player. Players can "build" houses and hotels on their different properties and charge their opposing players "rent" as a way of earning money throughout the game. If a player lands on a property owned by another player, they must pay that player the designated rent for that property (listed on the game board space).
