OpenAthens is a single sign-on authentication system that works with Okta to connect users to WSU Libraries online resources. If users have not already signed in to another Okta application, they will be prompted with an Okta sign-in screen. Users who have already signed in to another Okta application will be taken straight to the online resource (and not be forced to sign in a second time).

Note: Not all vendors are able to use OpenAthens Federated Access to authenticate users. Some vendors and platforms will still need to be proxied. Once we move completely to OpenAthens (tentative date: Summer 2023) these vendors will be proxied through OpenAthens and not EzProxy.
