Social sciences quantitative methods are complex, and while some of you may have had a methods course, many of you probably haven't. So this will focus on looking at secondary data - data analyzed in secondary -type publications (i.e. most social science quantitative research articles) -- that you can look at and evaluate for your particular purposes.
Look for secondary data (data already created) in secondary articles - charts, tables that you can incorporate into your work (citing them properly!)
