Music Periodicals Database
Formerly known as International Index to Music Periodicals. Contains over 600,000 article records with complete runs of over ten important titles such as the Journal of the American Musicological Society and Notes. Provides both current and retrospective coverage, featuring an extensive electronic backfile of almost 200,000 records from 1874 to present. Current coverage provides indexing and abstracts for more than 600 international music periodicals, plus full-text content for 220 journals. Indexed titles of scholarly and popular periodicals include classical music, opera, jazz, popular music and pop culture, music education, musicology, music theory, and many others. Coverage is particularly strong in the areas of performance, music education, and jazz.

Oxford Music Online is the gateway offering users the ability to access and cross-search multiple music reference resources in one location. With Grove Music Online (The New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians, 2nd edition; The New Grove Dictionary of Opera; The New Grove Dictionary of Jazz, 2nd edition; and The Encyclopedia of Popular Music, 4th edition) as its cornerstone, Oxford Music Online also contains The Oxford Companion to Music (2002), which offers more than 8,000 articles on composers, performers, conductors, instruments and notation, forms and genres, and individual works; and The Oxford Dictionary of Music, 2nd edition (revised 2006), which supplements Grove's more extensive articles with content geared toward undergraduates and general users.
