ASM will adopt a Subscribe to Open model for its six primary research, subscription-based journals in 2025. This aligns with ASM's mission to share its high-impact research with a global audience and accelerate scientific advancement.

S2O will convert subscription journals to open access and allow authors at subscribing institutions to make their research open access without paying APCs (article processing charges) for their Hybrid Journals. The journals covered under this agreement are:

• Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy
• Applied and Environmental Microbiology
• Infection and Immunity
• Journal of Bacteriology
• Journal of Clinical Microbiology
• Journal of Virology
