WRDS: Wharton Research Data Services: Home

WRDS, provided by the WSU College of Business, is a gateway to financial, accounting, banking, economics, management, and marketing data accessible through a single web-based interface from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Access

WSU faculty and graduate students are authorized to use WRDS. 

Submit a request for an individual account - username and password - to access WRDS:

Step 1: Go to the WRDS homepage

Step 2: Select the Register tab or or link "Register for a WRDS Account"

Step 3: Complete the Account Request form

Step 4: After receiving approval, an account will be created and you will receive an email message with a special URL and instructions for setting the account password and logging into WRDS.  This may take a day or more.

Step 5: You may log into WRDS

Step 6: Review the WRDS Terms of Use

Step 7: You may begin using your new account

If you already have an existing WRDS account, either active or recently expired, at another institution email WRDS Support to request an account transfer. Do not request an additional WRDS account.

Commercial use is not permitted.

Provided by the WSU College of Business, WRDS: Wharton Research Data Services is the leading, comprehensive, Internet-based data research service used by academic, government, non-profit institutions, and corporate firms.  WRDS manages data and delivers it in a seamless, unified, and consistent form.  WRDS provides the user with one location to access over 200 terabytes of data across multiple disciplines including Finance, Marketing, and Economics.  WRDS provides flexible data delivery options including executing research and strategy development on the WRDS computing cloud.

WRDS data is compiled from independent sources that specialize in specific historic data, including the Center for Research in Security Prices (CRSP), Standard & Poor's COMPUSTAT, Thomson Reuters Institutional Holdings Database, Thomson Reuters Insiders Data, and others.
