Step 1: Library Guides

Bookmark these library guides that provide access to databases, citation management information, and more. These include links to the most frequently consulted veterinary electronic textbooks available through the library (many more ebooks are not listed in these guides). Be aware that some institutional ebooks restrict the number of concurrent users.

Step 2: Reference Management

Before your library orientation, we encourage you to use reference management software like EndNote Basic, Zotero, or Mendeley. These tools will become your best friends for organizing references and creating citations throughout your program.

Here's what you need to do:

  1. Choose Your Reference Management Software: This software will become your best friend for organizing research sources throughout your program. You can pick any program with a "CiteWhileYouWrite" feature, like the free versions of EndNote Basic (link below), Zotero, or Mendeley.

    • EndNote Tip: Don't waste money on EndNote 20! Sign up for the free EndNote Basic account at EndNote Basic
  2. Download &Set it Up
  3. Need Help? We've Got You Covered! Optional 10-minute consultations are available at the end of your library orientation for anyone who needs assistance setting up their reference management software.

Remember: Completing this step before orientation will allow you to maximize your learning during the session!
