Recommended Databases and Indexes

Here is a selected list of databases the WSU Libraries subscribe to that are useful for research in Anthropology and Archaeology. To use these databases, you may need to use your WSU Net ID and password (the same ID and password you use for your Zzusis account) to log in.

AnthropologyPlus
Indexes articles and essays on archaeology, biological, physical, cultural and social anthropology, and linguistics. Indexes articles in works published in English and other European languages since the late 19th century. It is updated quarterly
eHRAF World Cultures
Provides full-text access to selected ethnographic resources dealing with cultures from around the world. (Tends to work best in Internet Explorer)
Web of Science (Clarivate Analytics)
Includes Arts & Humanities, Social Sciences and Science Citation indexes, Journal Citation Reports, BIOSIS Previews, BIOSIS Citation Index, Derwent Innovations patent searching, MEDLINE, and Zoological Record. Updated weekly.
JSTOR
JSTOR (www.jstor.org) is a not-for-profit organization with a dual mission to create and maintain a trusted archive of important scholarly journals, and to provide access to these journals as widely as possible. A database containing abstracted citations to articles on all aspects of sociology, social work and other social sciences. Coverage from 1963-present.
America: History & Life
Historical coverage of the United States and Canada from prehistory to the present. Contains citations and abstracts to journal articles, books reviews and dissertations published from 1954-present.
eHRAF Archaeology
Provides full-text subject access to selected archaeological books, journal articles, dissertations and manuscripts from cultures throughout the world.
Academic Search Complete
Academic Search Complete includes full text for 1800 publications as well as images, for nearly every academic field of study.
ScienceDirect
This resource contains the full text of Elsevier science journals with over 650 journals avilable in full text from 1995 to the present. This includes almost 300 title available at WSU in electronic form only.

Journals

Both print and electronic journals can be found by searching by title in the Search It, the library catalog and discovery system. Records of electronic journals in the WSU Library Catalog contain hyperlinks to the journals.
