Sage Research Methods

Sage Research Methods

Sage Research Methods is an excellent resource for information about conducting research of all kinds. It includes ebooks, videos, datasets, cases, and reference materials, plus research tools like the Methods Map and Project Planner.

You can search by a specific topic or browse by type of material, and you can narrow search results by a specific field.

Set up a Personal Profile

While your access to Sage Research Methods is provided by WSU, you can set up a personal profile that will allow you to save items to your Reading List for later viewing and to save searches.

Project Planner

Use the Project Planner as a guide throughout your research project. Each step of the research process is included with a breakdown of necessary considerations and guiding questions. Be sure to check out the helpful checklist at the end of each section!

Project Planner

In the Project Planner, you can select the Tools button at the top right of the page to access useful features including a citation tool, adding the page to your reading list (if you set up a personal account), sharing the page via email, changing the text size, and downloading the page as a PDF.

Methods Map

The Methods Map is a handy tool for exploring different research methods, looking up definitions, and discovering content that may be relevant to your research project. The Methods Map shows you how methods are related to each other, and helps you to narrow down to the method that is right for your project.

Which Stats Test

This tool provides guidance for the type of statistics test that is best suited for your data set and desired analysis. Just answer a short series of questions about certain characteristics of your data, and the Which Stats Test will offer a few selections along with links to more information about each test.

Searching for Content

Of course, you can also use Sage Research Methods to browse or search for specific information about research methods. You can narrow your results by content type or discipline using the filters on the right.
