A Research Guide for Agricultural & Food Systems 401

Project Summary & Goals

Partnering Organization: AgWest Farm Credit

Project Summary: The past couple of years have illuminated the impacts that the increasing globalization of the supply chain has had on American Agricultural producers. Understanding the economic impacts around this issue specific to our customer-members is important to AgWest FCS.  Students should pick a piece of the specific piece of the supply chain in an Agricultural industry and study how increased globalization specifically impacts an operation.

Project Goals:

  • Delineate the complete supply chain of the specific piece selected. How has globalization changed this supply chain over time?
  • Identify the monetary and non-monetary influences to the operation if the supply chain is disrupted.
  • Research how globalization has influenced the supply chain impact to a specific operation

Developing a Search Strategy

Think about the keywords that you will be using for your searches. Using a simple term like "supply chain" might get you too many erroneous search results. Therefore, you'll want to develop a search strategy to combine your keywords to make useful search strings.
