  • Analysis of bulk wine pricing trends through 2020.

  • Data on new distribution channels for the Wine Industry.

  • Data on how pandemic buying habits effected different price points of wine.

  • Hypothesis and supporting evidence to the question; Is there an excess of bulk wine in the PNW and/or California, and what specific factors have changed bulk-inventory levels in 2020?

Among many different types of research resources, this project is going to require finding data pertaining to the changing wine industry, historical and current distribution data, as well as scholarly research.

Finding Industry and Company Information, News, Press Releases, & More

This project requires you to explore several aspects of the wine industry. To do this, you may need to examine corporate and industry profiles, trade publications, press releases, newspapers, and much more.

Below are a few resources to get you started. 

TipThink about the keywords that you will be using for your searches. The lone term "wine" might get you too many erroneous search results. Therefore you may need to refine your keywords to "Washington wine industry" or "bulk wine markets."

Helpful Industry Resources

  • Nexis Uni - Provides information on U.S. and international private and public companies. Info may include: Company description and history, competitors, subsidiaries, size, officers and directors, annual stock price averages, and more.
  • Business Source Complete - Allows you to search company and industry information across popular press, trade journals, product reviews, and much more. Also provides information regarding company and industry profiles. This may be helpful when for searching for information regarding companies within the hop industry.

  • Newspaper Source - This database provides selected full text coverage for 245 newspapers, newswires and other sources.
  • Nexis Uni - An excellent source for searching for information within state/regional/US newspapers (including the New York Times) as well as English-language foreign newspapers and foreign language newspapers.
