You can use the same keyword strategies as books to find articles.
If you look for articles in Search It, use the left side to refine your results to Peer-Reviewed and Articles. Like books, this will generally only search within the Title and Abstract/Record (NOT the entire article).
If you come up with too many results (e.g. scientific articles on fishing), you can go into an article database to receive more relevant results. For example, if you use JSTOR, you will only receive articles based in the humanities and social sciences.
Also use databases if you want to search within the full text of the article. In other words, if you are searching for something very specific (the name of a fishery, a person, a specific event), use the databases to find that instance WITHIN the article (not just the title or abstract).
