Encyclopedias and Topic Starters

Although encyclopedias are typically not peer-reviewed or considered "scholarly resources" they can be a fantastic place to learn the basics of your subject and to do some topic exploration. From there you can use the terms and concepts you learned to search for resources within scholarly databases.
