Places to Study

The library in Wegner Hall Rm. 170 has seating for 80 students in comfortable group and quiet study areas, 17 library computers, 2 Huddle Stations, 3 CVM computers, CVM course reserve books, a current journals reading area, and knowledgeable and friendly assistants.

  • Quiet Study Areas: The carrels along the walls in the journal and book stacks are designated as quiet study areas.
  • Small Group Study Areas: Large tables and white boards are in the computer area and the area across from the Circulation Desk.

There is one small group study room with a whiteboard, CVM computer and Huddle Station available for student use. Signup sheet is posted on the door, with preference given to those with CVM affiliation. Sign up in person or call 5-9556 for same day reservations.

Food and drink are allowed in all areas of the Animal Health Library.

Copying, Printing, Scanning, Computer Access and More

  • Photocopying and Printing:  There is one photocopier/printer. with payment via Cougar Copies. All public computer terminals are connected to it. An alternative to printing and copying is scanning.
  • Scanning:  As a printing/copying alternative, scan articles and papers to your CVM drive (must use the CVM Creativity Station computer), download to a thumb drive, or send to your email. All scanning computers are equipped with Adobe Acrobat Pro to combine pdf pages into one document.
  • Creativity Stations: The 2 Creativity Work Stations are in the current journals area. These are computers with MS Office, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Photoshop, open-source graphics software, scanners, CD-burners, and other tools.
  • Access to the CVM Network from the Animal Health Library (3): one is the end workstation in the Creativity Station area, one is in the public computer area (by the windows), and one is in the Group Study Room.
  • Headphones may be checked out from the circulation desk.
  • Wireless access: Available from most areas of the Animal Health Library.
  • Huddle Stations (2) allow for group work with laptop connections to large screen using Mersive Solstice.

Office Delivery for Faculty and Graduate Students

Office delivery is available for faculty and graduate students. If a book is too large to fit in a WSU interdepartmental mailing, office delivery is not possible. Check the Description field in the cataloging record for size information, e.g. # of pages, cm (length). If in question, select delivery to your nearest library, e.g. AHL, for pickup.

CVM professional students can have interlibrary loan print books sent to the AHL for pick-up.
