Ebooks at WSU

We purchase ebooks from multiple vendors dependent on availability, cost, and format. Be aware that not every book is available for institutional ebook purchase.

  1. Some ebooks from Elsevier Science Direct or many from Wiley Online Library are unlimited user ebooks.
  2. Others from Proquest, CRC, Clinical Key, or R2 Digital Library may be limited to 1-3 users at any one point in time.
  3. Some (Oxford, Taylor & Francis, some R2 Digital Library, some Proquest and some Wiley Online Library) may be part of demand driven purchase programs, where usage triggers our institution or a collaborative group of institutions(Orbis-Cascade) to purchase the book based on funds available. These ebooks may end up not being available if you go to access them at a later date.

Many ebooks are now acquired through demand driven/evidence-based purchase programs. This means we may have temporary access with the potential to permanently purchase a title if it is heavily used. Please keep this in mind and check with us if you want to assure ongoing access for student or laboratory use.

Finding journals

Journals - Online and Print

If you know what journal you need, use SearchIT to find both online and print WSU journals. Use the Articles, Books and More drop-down box in SearchIT and then narrow your search by resource Type. If full-text is not available sign-in to SearchIT to interlibrary loan the article.

Use online databases to locate journals articles on a topic. Go to the Find Journal Articles link in the middle Research column to find an A-Z listing and subject breakdown of databases to try.

Print copies of current neuroscience journals are available in the Animal Health Library Wegner Room 170.
