HEALWA is the on-call library for health practitioners.
The bill to fund HEALWA was passed by the Washington State legislature in May 2007.
The online resource portal was launched two years later in 2009, in partnership with the Washington State Department of Health.
HEALWA is hosted at the University of Washington Health Sciences Library.
The purpose of the website is to assure affordable, anytime, online access to current, authoritative clinical information and education resources to eligible healthcare practitioners in Washington State.
