DynaMed Plus Guide: Getting Started

This guide will show you how to use DynaMed Plus to find current and reliable point-of-care information.

Overview

DynaMed Plus is a point-of-care resource for health information. The content is written, reviewed, and updated by expert physicians and provides specific recommendations for patient care. To access DynaMed Plus:

1. Go to https://spokane.wsu.edu/library/ 

2. Under "Find Books and Materials", select "SearchIt".

3. Search for "DynaMed Plus".

4. From the results list, find "DynaMed Plus" and select "Access Options".

5. Select "EBSCOHost Databases".

To begin a search, type your search term into the search bar. A drop-down list of suggested terms may appear.

There are several things to pay attention to on the results list. Each result includes the images, calculators, and topics:


Under each topic result you will see three links to sections within the topic article, allowing you to quickly navigate to the most relevant information.

Help with DynaMed Plus

DynaMed Plus has a robust Help section to help you get started using the resource. It includes a searchable user manual with information on searching, topics, citations, and technical assistance. To access, click "Help" at the top right corner of the webpage.

Navigating a DynaMed Plus Article

On the left side of the screen, you will see a navigation menu and will be able to select links to the most relevant sections of the article. 


The articles within DynaMed Plus are designed to be informative and easily navigated. There are many links within an article that allow you to jump to graphics, references, and related DynaMed Plus articles.

References

Each DynaMed Plus article is heavily researched, with references listed both throughout the article and at the bottom, complete a link to the referenced article in PubMed.
