Newspapers as Primary Sources

Image result for newspaper layout

The news, as an account of daily happenings, is a major primary source for documentation of events, discoveries, and social life.  Older news files are being digitized and becoming increasingly more accessible.  In the resource lists below can be found subscription databases of historical and current newspapers, and many freely accessible news collections on the Internet.  As always, ask a reference librarian for assistance with hard-to-find sources.
